Student Blocked A/c is a visa requirement and a guarantee that an international student in Germany is able to support his/her living expenses out of blocked account.

Eligibility for free education in Germany

The following are the criteria for free education in Germany

Criteria for Bachelors

1) Good track record including a minimum of 85% or 9 CGPA in class 12 th
2) B2 level German language

Criteria for Masters

1) 75% and above mark in bachelors.
2) IELTS/ TOEFL/GRE/GMAT /German Language is required.

Part-time jobs : during course of study

Indian Students pursuing full-time studies in Germany are allowed to work up to 120 full-time days or 240 half-days in a year without o obtain permission from the German Employment Authorities. Here are some jobs for international students:

Retirement life:

Germany has an elaborate social security system that sees to it that its citizens live comfortably after retirement, retirement age is 60. People with jobs must, as a rule, make payments to four parts of the system, for health insurance, long-range nursing care, pensions and unemployment. These payments will usually come to about 40% of gross income, but the employer normally pays half of the cost, meaning that the employee is out of pocket only just 20% of his income. Other pillars of the social security program are company accident insurance, paid for completely by the employer, and social indemnity, which the state handles.

Free education in Germany

All German public institutes offer free education and students are only required to pay minimal administrative charges. This means that tuition fees will be waived completely, irrespective of a student’s nationality. Overseas students will also have to prepare sufficient funds for living expenses. Also, it should be noted that free tuition in Germany is only for UG students and these waivers do not apply to PG and PhD programs. The reason behind free education in Germany is the fact that Germans do not perceive education as a commercial product. 2014 witnessed 16 German states abolished tuition fees for undergraduate students at public German universities. This means, both domestic and international undergraduates at public universities in Germany can study for free, with just a small fee to cover administration and other costs per semester. Germany has always welcomed the brightest and smartest global talents into the country, encouraging them to stay on and pursue higher education and subsequent employment in the country. This is another reason behind the absence of tuition fees at leading public universities for international students.

 

Globally recognised programs

45 German universities are ranked in QS World University Rankings 2021. This means almost every major city in the country has the world’s leading universities. When studying in Germany, you will find that students have more independence in organizing their own study programs. Programs are not linear, so students have much more control over what they learn and when. Many even choose to continue their studies for more than three years or combine their work with other departments to become interdisciplinary. Most of the programs in the country are conducted in German and a small but increasing number of programs are conducted in English.
